Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is for photographers with an interest in photographing gorgeous weddings and crazy in love couples. For photographers who want to document real emotion and are willing to be vulnerable (and a little dorky) to achieve it. For photographers who want to find their voice in a sea of voices telling them who they should be. For photographers who feel overwhelmed trying to break into the wedding industry and want to find their community.  For photographers who don't feel like they are good enough. You know what? You are.

But mostly, for photographers who want a REAL and HONEST look at what capturing a wedding day is really like and what running your own business is like. It's not a big fancy stylized table that you have an hour of uninterrupted time to work with. It is not editing at a perfectly clean desk, sipping on a macchiato, while your cat purrs in your ear.

Those things are truly beautiful (styled shoots are AMAZING) and fun in their own time (except the cat part...cats freak me out), but it is not the reality of a wedding day or running a business on your own.

You have to be able to deliver an amazing product every time, no excuses. And that means, knowing your stuff inside and out.  It means learning to thrive in less than ideal lighting circumstances. It means working crazy hours sometimes. It means smiling when people are unkind to you on a wedding day. It means being one step ahead all of the time and knowing how to get the shot when everything is against you. It is being able to bust out killer detail shots in a matter of minutes when the timeline goes bust. It means getting that groom to understand why you request two hours for an engagement session and be excited about it.  AND It means wrangling extended family because, yes, even those photos are not the most fun to shoot, they are often the most important and most cherished.

Whether you are a hobbyist, brand new to the business, or are feeling burnt out and overwhelmed, in need of inspiration there is something here for you. Also, there will be coffee and cookies.

Being able to shoot in manual is HIGHLY recommended.

It's going to be beautiful and completely reflective of the flow of real sessions. And you will have something stunning to add to your portfolio. Sarah will be sharing settings, how she approaches the shoot, and her thought process to get the clients engaged. Sarah will also do a demonstration of her post process workflow.

The workshop will begin at 10:00am and go until sundown.
